Jerome Ostrov
Jerry counsels individuals, families, family offices, and privately
held businesses in a variety of practice areas, including:
- tax, estate planning and creditor protection
- charitable giving and the formation of charitable entities
- family office, charitable entity and trust governance
- real estate and other transactional tax issues
Jerry has lectured to bar association organizations both in and out
of the Washington, D.C. area on issues pertaining to estate planning,
charitable giving and partnership tax law and is the author of a treatise published by PLI Press entitled Tax and Estate
Planning with Real Estate, Partnerships and LLCs. Jerry clerked for Judge
Leo H. Irwin of the United States Tax Court.
Jerry graduated with a B.S., cum laude, from Boston University.
He received law degrees from Albany Law School (JD) and New York University Law
School (LLM in Taxation). He also holds a masters degree in public policy
and administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
Jerry is married to Roberta Baruch, an attorney with the Federal Trade Commission.
Jerry and Bobi have three college age children. Jerry is licensed in the District
of Columbia, Maryland and New York.
